Talk to a doctor before Military Honey if any of this applies

Military Honey is a dietary supplement. It is not a treatment for erectile dysfunction, low testosterone or any disease, and it is not a substitute for a medicine you already take. These situations call for a doctor’s view first:

  1. You take nitrates or blood-pressure medicine. Nitrates for chest pain, such as nitroglycerin or isosorbide, can react dangerously with erectile dysfunction drugs like sildenafil (MedlinePlus, sildenafil). Any blood-pressure or heart medicine is a reason to ask before adding a supplement.
  2. You have a heart condition. Horny goat weed, one of the four herbs in each gummy, is not advised for people with heart disease (Memorial Sloan Kettering).
  3. Erection problems are new. ED can be a sign of health problems, including clogged blood vessels or nerve damage from diabetes (MedlinePlus, erectile dysfunction; NIDDK). A doctor can look for the cause.
  4. You take other vitamin D, or have kidney stones or high calcium. Each gummy has 84 mcg of vitamin D3; adults should stay at or under 100 mcg a day from all sources (NIH ODS).
  5. You take diabetes medicine. Fenugreek may lower blood sugar at large doses (NCCIH).

Trouble with erections or drive, and tiredness you cannot explain, belong with a doctor before any gummy, and that matters most if you take medicine for your heart, blood pressure, blood sugar or hormones. If you feel a racing heartbeat, nausea, confusion or unusual thirst, stop and call a doctor; for chest pain or trouble breathing, call 911. Problems with a supplement can be reported to the FDA (how to report).
